Six benches, plus the audit that often replaces all of them

Pick by the problem, not by the club. If you cannot name the problem, call and describe the miss, and we will tell you which bench is the right one, including when the answer is none of them.

The six club benches

110 minutes

Driver Bench

For the golfer whose tee shot is either the best or the worst club in the bag with nothing in between. Length and balance point come before head selection.

Iron Bench

For sets that behave like eight unrelated clubs. Progression across length, balance and frequency is the whole job here.

Fairway Wood Bench

For the club that works off a tee and refuses off the deck. Sole shape does more of that work than loft does.

Hybrid Bench

For the gap between the longest iron you trust and the shortest wood you can hit. Sized against both neighbours, never in isolation.

Wedge Bench

For short game that works on the range mat and disappears on wet turf. Bounce and grind against the ground you actually play.

Putter Bench

For distance control on the greens rather than for making more ten footers. Head mass against green speed comes first.

Sessions that are not about buying clubs

Full bag tolerance audit

Every club you own goes on the gauges. Length, lie, loft, mass, balance, frequency, groove condition and grip state, all recorded onto one sheet. Nothing is altered and nothing is sold. Two day turnaround, sixty-five dollars.

This is the session we recommend most often to golfers who are not sure whether they need anything at all. A meaningful share of them walk out needing a regrip and two lie bends rather than a new set.

Set gapping review

Carry distances measured across the whole bag on one afternoon, then mapped against the yardages you actually face at your home course. Produces a written list of where the holes and the overlaps are. Frequently the cheapest stroke saving in the shop.

Renata runs these. Bring a scorecard from the course you play most and it gets considerably more useful.

Bench repair work

Regrips, re-shafts, loft and lie corrections, broken shaft extraction, ferrule replacement and swing balance adjustment. Priced per club on the rate sheet, mostly same day or two days.

Walk-ins accepted for anything under fifteen minutes, no appointment and no session fee.

Winter rebuild programme

Book a session in September or October, leave the clubs, and collect a rebuilt bag in March. No queue, longer bench time per club, and the shop is quiet enough to do the fussy work properly. Storage over winter is free.

The most sensible way to use a Wisconsin off-season, and consistently our least busy booking window.

Which bench, if you are unsure

Start with where the score actually leaks. Golfers arrive convinced the driver is the problem far more often than the driver is the problem. Three or four wasted shots a round usually live between 120 and 160 yards, or on the green in the form of three putts, and neither of those is fixed by a new tee club.

If your miss is that everything from 150 in goes long or short with no pattern, that is an iron bench or a gapping review. If it is that the ball will not stop on a green, that is a wedge bench and possibly a spin conversation. If it is that you cannot lag a forty footer inside three feet, that is a putter bench. If it is genuinely the tee shot, take the driver bench and we will start with the shaft you already own.

And if none of that describes it, phone the shop. Ten minutes of description costs nothing and saves people from booking the wrong two hours.

Bench time in Bay View

Bring the bag. Leave with the numbers.

Sessions run one golfer at a time. Nothing is sold from a rack, and nothing leaves the shop without a printed as-built sheet in the bag pocket.
